The following formula gives you an estimate of the amount of material you will need to do a project using the following materials: 4″ – 0, 3″ – 0, 1 1/2″ – 0, 3/4″ – 0, 1/2″ – 0, 1/4″ – 0.
First, multiply Length x Width x Depth in feet, to get the total Cubic Footage. Next take the total Cubic Footage result and divide it by 27 to give you your total Cubic Yards quotient. Then take your total Cubic Yards and multiply it by 1.95 to find the total estimated tons needed for your project.
